CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: We set sail under a steady drizzle, but we were all hopeful, eager to catch a glimpse of the majestic whales despite the weather. After about 30 minutes on the water, we finally spotted a blow in the distance—it was a humpback whale! It was moving unpredictably, probably feeding, with its large body diving and resurfacing in surprising ways. We all thought it might fluke a few times, but it kept teasing us by almost doing it, but not quite. Just when we thought we’d have to leave it behind, we spotted another blow, much closer to land. This time, the humpback was calmer and much more cooperative—fluking gracefully a few times for us to see. It was the perfect follow-up to our earlier adventure. To top off the tour, just as we were wrapping up, one of the humpbacks surprised us by fluking right next to the boat. You could feel the excitement in the air, it was a breathtaking end to an unforgettable day on the water.
