- CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00
Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule. Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!
CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We headed out in the morning with some swell and cloudy skies. After about an hour of sailing, we spotted a blow—a humpback whale! It surfaced, letting out a big blow of air before diving down, showing off its dark fluke. Each time it came up, we got to see its massive body break through the water before it disappeared again, only to pop back up moments later. Amazing! Eventually, we had to start heading back to Reykjavik, but not before we enjoyed our morning coffees as we sailed back, a perfect way to start our day!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We headed out with dry weather which fast turned into slight rain, which on the other hand created a nice rainbow right in the first 10 minutes of the tour. As we headed further out in the bay we found a pod of 7-8 white-beaked dolphins. They had a little calf with them, which was playing in the waves. After a while we left them, so they could carry on their journey. It started to snow every now and then and then kept snowing. As the time passed by we had to head back to the harbor. On our way back we found the pod of dolphins again, so we stayed with them for a little while again, before we really left for port. We were already in 10 minutes range of the harbor, when we spotted a Humpback Whale at last ! So of course we made a little detour, to check him out. It was a really nice individual, coming up to the surface quite often and showing us it's fluke a few times. Also paired again with a rainbow. This time after the last fluke dive we REALLY left for the harbor. ;)
