CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: This morning we had a quite windy tour. Luckily, the ocean was way more calm so we could enjoy a relaxing morning in the ocean. On the way out we spotted 3 minke whales they seemed to be going somewhere because they were swimming very fast. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay very long with them and they were a bit elusive. We also found a humpback whale. This whale didn't seem to be the most friendly one, it stayed down longer than usual and every time it went to the surface, it just took a few breaths and then it went down again. Since the whales didn't meet our expectations today, we decided to give complimentary tickets to see them again another time.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING l 11:00
Report from Hafsulan: Sailing out this late morning, we knew that the rough seas would make us stay along the coastline South of Reykjavik. We went straight to the area were our other boats had spotted some individuals, and luckily had some great sightings ! As gannets plunge dived around us, we managed to see 2 humpback whales, coming up and down, scanning the water under us and fluke diving many times, finishing the tour with one of them coming meters from our boat. Sailing back against the wind, rain and waves, we were very happy to have this quality of a sighting in this weather.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We started our afternoon searching the bay for wildlife. We road the light swell and enjoyed a small break in the rain. We travelled for about 1h before our first sighting a minke whale resurfaced twice letting us see her dosal fin! We then continued sailing once again scanning the water. We found a second minke whale! It came closer to our boat before vanishing once again in the blue. Eventually it was time to go back so we started our way back to the harbour but we gave out complimentary tickets to our guests so they could try their luck another time!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING l 15:00
Report from Elding: Changing boats before leving, to ensure that the weather and waves wouldn't be the only thing passengers remember of this tour, we headed back out once again. Quite quickly we found around 4 minke whales roaming around the same area, with many Northern gannets plunge diving, and even some of the last North Atlantic puffins. This clear sign of a feeding zone meant that something else might be around. Indeed, we then managed to see a humpback whale, fluke diving many times and even bubble net feeding for over 30 minutes ! This great sighting was really the best end of this tour, with an unexpected great activity in what seemed like a rough day at the start.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 17:00
Report from Eldey: This afternoon we sailed out with the wind on our back. It took us a while but we found a blow in the distance. It turned out to be a humpback whale. This whale was bubble net feeding, so it was very easy for us to follow it every time it went for a deeper dive because we could see the bubbles before the whale surfaced. Every time the whale went for a deeper dive it showed us its beautiful tail. Also, several times it surfaced lunge feeding in the surface so we could see the baleen plates but also its tongue. There was also a minke whale in the same area surfacing from time to time. Finally, as soon as we started to leave a white beaked dolphin was starting to feed with the humpback. We decided to leave them alone having dinner all together and go back to the harbour.
