Report from Eldey: The winds were strong from the North this morning which gave us some swell but bright blue skies allowed our passengers to really experience Icelandic "window weather"! We headed out into the bay past Hvalfjörður and then while travelling with the waves, we spotted 2 minke whales and a pod of 6-8 white-beaked dolphins. All of these animals were in a similar area, so it seemed we had found the breakfast buffet. Along with the cetaceans, there were also plenty of Northern gannets gliding through the air to watch between minke blows. We were also surprised by a pod of 4 harbour porpoises swimming fast through the waves past our boat! Unfortunately, after following these cetaceans through the swell for a while, we started to run out of time and had to head back towards the harbour. However, the minkes weren't done with us yet and we saw another two breaking through the waves on our way back in. Although we did see some whales and dolphins today, they were not feeling in the most sociable mood so we gave our passengers complimenary tickets to come again for free on another tour to try again!
