Report from Eldey: This morning started out with some light rain, which fortunately stopped as we left the harbour. After putting on the cozy overalls we were all ready to discover what the bay had to offer for us today. After about an hour of sailing, we spotted a pod of white-beaked dolphins. We stopped to have look and they were swimming very close to the boat, from one side to the other. We could stay for a little before these sweet dolphins took off, and then we also decided to continue our journey to look for something else. We could spot a lot of seabirds along the way, Northern Fulmars, Northern Gannets, and Manx Shearwaters to name a few. We continued searching for more cetaceans, but they seemed to be a little shy this morning. We were all happy with our beautiful sighing of the dolphins, but in order for the guests to get another chance of longer sightings, we handed out complimentary tickets.

Report from Eldey: We sailed out into a windy bay under clearing skies and beaming sunshine. Although the wind had picked up, leading to a bit of swell, we had a lovely sail out along the Reykjanes Peninsula, which borders the bay from the south. We saw many gorgeous rainbows, admiring the full circle visible in all its glory, all its vibrant colours at one point. Our patience paid off, when we spotted a big, bushy blow not too far, well hidden among the whitecaps, a humpback whale! This whale treated us to many magnificent blows, some wonderful fluke dives, and even performed a bit of a roll at one point! What a lucky find! We spent the remaining time we had admiring this lovely calm whale, enchanted by the blows, before we sadly had to head back towards the harbour.
