CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Hafsulan: We went into some moderate waves and strong southerly wind. We searched about for a bit until we finally landed a glimpse of a minke whale! We moved on rather fast though as close by we spotted 2 humpback whales! They were very calm and spent a lot of time at the surface. One of them even treated us very consistently to nice and high fluke dives. Eventually we moved onwards to find a surprise third humpback surfacing right in front of us, after that, he breached once right next to us as well! Very quickly after that he vanished, making it the perfect time for us to end our tour and sail back towards Reykjavik.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Hafsulan: This afternoon we had quite a different experience compared to the morning as we had multiple whales right at our doorstep! We found 4 minke whales and a humpback whale right outside the harbour, in front of Reykjavik's coastline and around Engey island. This meant we were sheltered from a most of the waves and wind, giving us a smooth sailing. All the whales were clearly very busy feeding and we even got to see a lungefeed or two! For the humpback this meant however that they spent a lot of time underwater and surfaced shortly. We did however catch the humpback during a short powernap, allowing a nice close up look as well. What a lovely afternoon!
