CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Hafsúlan: We left the harbor in the best of sunlight and a wind from the north east. As we headed towards the snow capped mountains we spotted the first minke whale just outside of the harbor. It as actively feeding on the surface and lead us around in circles. After a while a second minke whale appeared in the distance. We got a good look at the animals before we decided to continue our search further out in Faxaflói. We went around the islands and onto the open waters along the beautiful coast. We were not able to find other whales, but enjoyed the awesome view of the mountains covered in snow in the sunlight. On our way back to the harbor, we again found some minke whales closer to shore and were able to finish out tour with great impressions of these graceful animals with Reykjavik in the background.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan: We went out again in bright sunshine. Even though the wind had picked up quite a bit since our previous tour, we were able to find our first 2 minke whales right out of the harbor. We enjoyed the time with them and watched them feeding on small fish on the surface. We then went further out even though the sea was quite challenging. The reason was a breaching humpback whale not to far from our position. As we got closer, it turned out to be 2 humpback whales swimming together. We tried to stay with them but the wind and the waves did not make the spotting easier. Nonetheless we got to see a few graceful fluke dives before we returned back to Reykjavik.
