CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We went out in the best of sunlight but with a strong wind blowing from the north. We were lucky as we were not even out of the harbor as we spotted the first blows. It was a pair of humpback whales that has come close to shore. We spend a good amount of time with them as they made their way around the bay. After some great opportunities for pictures of the whales with the snow capped mountains in the background, we spotted a fast minke whale in the distance. So we went to see him up close and got a great look at him as he led us on a merry chase in between the islands. Fortunately the wind had calmed down and so we were able to enjoy the rest of the tour in awesome clear weather.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Hafsulan: After midday the wind dropped quite a bit and we sailed out to calm seas. Only 15min later we already saw 2 blows, they belonged to 2 humpback whales! We stayed with them for a bit and watched on. They did look like they were resting for a bit and then woke up and did a mini peduncle throw! We then decided to have a little sail and found a minke whale! This one was swimming and feeding and showing off its pretty pattern. We stayed for a bit before returning to the humpbacks and then sailing home.
