CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: This morning was a cold and slightly snowy start, making the scenery even more picturesque! The snow made plenty of rainbows for us as well - including some double and even triple rainbows! As soon as we left the harbour, we spotted 2 blows! It was the same pair of humpback whales that have been around the islands for the last week. They were very close to the island Engey, so close in fact that at one point, we couldn't even follow them as the water was too shallow! After watching them for a little while, we moved on and continued our search for other cetaceans. After passing Viðey and the Imagine Peace Tower, we spotted another marine mammal! It was not a cetacean this time, but a harbour seal! This little seal was surprisingly curious of the boat and came quite close to us - not very common for them! We decided to leave the seal in peace and continued past Lundey and out into the bay. Unfortunately, we didn't see any other animals so we headed back to our original humpback whales. They were still in the same area and still very relaxed. One of them was even logging at the surface in between the whale watching boats. Once a few other boats arrived, we headed back into the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR| 13:00

Report from Hafsulan: The skies had cleared a bit since the morning and shy sun peaked through. We were lucky enough to find the same pair of humpbacks since the morning in the same area. This meant we could spend a lot of time with these individuals as they travelled along Reykjavik and Viðey's coastline. We had a lovely time following them along on their travels, as they were likely searching the area for food. Eventually, we headed back very much satisfied with the afternoon!
