CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Hafsulan: We started our tour in a cloudy, calm morning, and we headed first to the same area we found whales on the previous day. Lucky us, right after we got closer to Viðey island, we spotted a dark back on the surface. It was a humpback whale! Sleeping and very specifically, logging! Sometimes we could see its blowhole when it would take a breath, allowing us to even hear the blow. We spent a few minutes more with it, but we didn't want to disturb it for longer and we headed to other areas. We went towards the open bay and we admired the pink landscape as the sun rose. We then spotted a couple of dorsal fins popping out, finding a pod of 10 white-beaked dolphins! We got a good mix of adults and about 3 calves amongst them and we had fun spotting them. Always a very nice sighting when spotting these tiny young and cute dorsal fins! We started heading back to shore now, and we stopped by the humpback form the beginning to check it out one last time and... it was awake! It was still quite calm, with slow movements. It was when it went down showing it fluke, that we decided to go home since we were running out of time. Lovely!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Hafsulan: Today our afternoon tour started with a light rain, but it has stopped as soon as we left the harbour. We first spotted a sneaky minke whale next to island of Engey, its dark back and dorsal fin cutting the calm surface and flat sea. We saw it many times and even closer to the boat, even hearing its blow! While looking for this while, another dark back followed by a fluke showed up not far from it! There was a humpback whale around, and this one was the one sleeping on the previous morning tour. Now it was awake, going for very long dives, about 12 min. Worth it, since it would log for a while on the surface and then show a majestic fluke when going down. We could even see well the pectoral fins and rostrum underneath the surface since the sea was so calm. We then went to explore other areas, taking a look at the beautiful landscape, but then coming back to see that humpback and minke again. As we didn't find them again, we went slowly back home in the calm sea.
