Report from Hafúlan. We were sailing for quite a while straight out into the foggy but calm Faxaflói Bay, until we saw first a blow and then a black back! When coming closer we recognized it was not only one, there were two Humpback Whales swimming side by side. As they seemed to be busy feeding and not willing to stay close with us, we decided to leave those two in peace. Knowing that our other vessel already spotted a Humpback in an other area, we headed there and again we did not only found one, we found two other Humpbacks swimming side by side. And those were not that shy, than the other two others before, they really seemed to enjoy staying with us. It was really hard to leave those amazing Humpback Whales, which started swimming in circles around us!!! A long tour and a great day in the marine-life again!!
Report from Elding. The fog was still in the bay when we headed out. We wanted to try the same area from the morning. On the way we spotted white-beaked dolphins. At first they were really elusive and shy, but soon they came closer to us and were swimming under the boat and surfacing right in front of us, really great sighting! After the dolphins left we did the same and went searching for bigger cetaceans. We did not reach the same area from the morning, because on the way we spotted a humpback whale! It was slowly swimming close to us but taking a long time diving. After one deep diving we were waiting....and then BOOM! It breached just right in front of us! WOW! So beautiful, and followed by another smaller one! WOW this was absolutely incredible. We stayed with this humpback for some time before we headed back home. What a day!

It was a grey morning in Faxaflói as we sailed out in a foggy weather. The visibility was poor but we took the challenge and went out searching for the whales. We started the tour by finding few white-beaked dolphins. It was a small pod surfacing few times in front of us so we could take a good look at them. After a while we decided to head further out. The skies had cleared up but once we got further it was foggy again. We searched for a long time, and yet again the fog disappeared and we spotted a blow! And yes it was a humpback whale! And not only one, but two! They were feeding very close together and surfacing very close to the boat! This was really nice and it was hard to leave them but our time ran out so we just had to head back to Reykjavík harbour.
