CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: GLEÐILEG JÓL! 🎄 On this unusually warm Christmas day, we sailed out of the harbour with some light rain. After only just passing the island of Engey, we spotted our first blow! As we neared Viðey, we saw that it was our favourite pair of humpbacks, Banana and Radar. They were enjoying their Christmas lunch while we watched them surface and fluke dive. Radar once even rolled as they dove to show off a sideways fluke. They kept us on our toes as they followed the fish in all directions. While we were watching the whales, a grey seal popped its head up right next to our boat as well! Once more boats started to arrive, we moved on to search for other animals. We couldn't find anything else so we started to head back to the pair we found at the beginning but then we saw a different blow. It was a third humpback! It was feeding in a very similar area to the pair but was doing much longer dives. After multiple surface sequences from our three humpbacks, it was time to wave our whales goodbye and head back to port. What a perfect Christmas present!
