CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We had quite a bit of wind and swell today which gave our passengers the true Icelandic experience! After setting sail out of the harbour, we heard that another boat had spotted something but it had disappeared... We waited for a little bit to see if it would reappear and while we scanning the seas, we spotted a pod of 4-5 harbour porpoises! Surprisingly, we were able top see them many times through the waves. After a while though, they disappeared to probably feed on the large schools that have been in the area recently. Soon after, we saw what we were waiting for - our pair of humpback whales! It was Banana and Radar, our resident whales and they were actively feeding! When we first spotted them, they even did a lunge feed! In between surface sequences, we also spotted a harbour seal near the humpbacks too. Many times, the humpbacks surfaced right next to us! It was incredible! After we had watched them for some time, we said goodbye to the whales and started our journey back to the harbour.
