CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We wet out with some wind and clouds covering the sun. Nonetheless we enjoyed the cruise between the islands in search for the whales. We were lucky to spot a curious harbor seal and a grey seal hunting for fish. Also a lot of birds indicated that there is still plenty of food around. We searched all over the bay and finally spotted the blow of whale just a few hundred meters away from the entrance to the harbor. That is how things can be. We got closer to have a good look at the humpback whale that was traveling quite fast in search of food. beside some graceful fluke dives, the whale showed off a bit by rolling on its back and slapping its tail onto the surface several times. A very impressive action that gave us a good feeling for the size and power of these gentle giants.
