CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: It was another beautiful wintery day in Reykjavík with clear blue skies and flat calm seas. As soon as we left the harbour, we spotted our first whale! It was our resident humpback whale for the winter, Banana! They were feeding close to Engey and came very close to our boat a few times. We could hear the blow and see the white pectoral fins through the water next to us. Suddenly, Banana did a full breach out of the water! Their whole body cam flying out of the water not far from the island of Engey! While waiting for Banana to surface, we saw 2 seals as well! They were hanging around in the same area that Banana was feeding in - maybe sneaking a fish or two that escaped the humpback's mouth. After watching Banana for a while, we continued our search around the islands. We spotted another seal lying on some ice! Then a group of 10 more seals all hanging out together! Adorable! It was a mix of both harbour and grey seals. After passing a flock of birds with three more seals feeing underneath, we sailed back to find Banana again and spend some time with them before going back to the harbour.
