Today's whale watching tour from Reykjavík is on schedule! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!
CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We started this tour with a few great cormorants on the sea wall watching us go out to explore the wild west of Iceland. Sailing around the islands of Reykjavík we saw plenty of bird life flying in small flocks, but no cetacean life under these flocks, so we carried on with the exploration. Closer to the islands we could see 2 grey seals checking us out! About an hour into the tour we saw a blow, followed by a body and we could confirm that it was in fact a humpback whale! It was doing its whaly business, going up and down on the water column. We saw a few flukes and few close ups, and we were also checked by a few curious grey seals. On the last 10 minutes of this tour a rain mixed with snow storm got us a bit blind on one side and we had to give up and get back to the safety of the harbour.
