Report from Eldey: Our green lady viewing tour started like it ended, under a starry sky filled with Northern Light activity! We saw all the shapes and sizes of it, all the colours and shades. We got it all! A massive corona formed just above us and stayed there for a few minutes, making a few necks a bit sore. On Esja, we saw some faint red, which was easily visible with the camera. There were also lots of green lines in the sky and some people stayed the whole tour outside, which says more about the tour we had than I can say.

Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
