  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00

Today's Whale Watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: It was a cold morning with flat seas, a gentle wind and a beautiful sun rising as we left the harbour. A quick search and soon we found our 2 resident humpback whales, Banana and Split were swimming around calmly as we approached in an area with about 4 Grey seals around. After a bit, things did pick up a bit as they clearly moved on towards feeding, swimming rapidly back and forth in the area, going on rapid dives with their flukes high. Split even treated us to 3 peduncle throws, which might just have been targetted towards the competing seals nearby, trying to deter them. No matter the reason though, for us it led to a dynamic spectacle to witness this morning!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out with sunshine but cold wind, the sea was flat. We sailed around the islands and found lots of grey seals. They were curious and looking at us. Then we saw two blows in the distance. 2 humpback whales ! It were Banana and Split. They were showing us their beautiful flukes and were surfacing a lot. Also changing directions a lot. After a while we left them and looked for something else. We found 1 common dolphin next to Engey island, it was swimming nest to us and also was bow riding. Then it disappeared. So we went back to the humpbacks to say goodbye. They graced us with 2 nice synchronized fluke dives. What a great tour ! :)
