Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Report from Eldey: With a kp 4, we ventured into the darkness. There were some clouds above our heads, but in between them, we could see stars and among them, our lovely green lady. The Northern Lights started strong in full swing, as we were coming out of the harbour. They danced with the stars and clouds, did a show on Esja and vanished a few minutes later. We looked for them for a while, even coming back a bit later to the harbour to maximize our time with the aurora borealis.
