Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Report from Eldey: This evening was far different to yesterday! Today we had quite clear skies as we sailed put and eagerly kept our eye on the horizon! After a bit of sail we managed to spotted a surprise guest! A humpback whale! We managed to see it fluke a few times and it was surrounded by so many birds! We decided to stick in this corner as the ocean was much calmer, and we had a bonus humpback! We kept an eye on the horizon but unfortunately the clouds closed over. We decided to hand out complimentary tickets so that everyone could try their luck again!
