NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 22:00
Report from Hafsúlan: What a storm! Winds were blasting from the north as we left the harbor in search for the Northern lights. It was rough out at sea until we got into the sheltered waters in the sheltered waters below mount Esja. In the calm we enjoyed the brilliant clear sky with all the stars. But the aurora was not out before we turned to head home. Then within seconds beautiful curtains of green appeared over the mountains and gave us the opportunity for great pictures at last - the northern lights! That is how it can be, nature always keeps things interesting.

Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.
