CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: The sun was shining and the waves were gentle in Faxaflói bay this morning! As we were sailing out into this calm sea and while we were admiring the snow capped mountains, a pod of white-beaked dolphins paid us a short visit. After that, we got to observe a travelling minke whale from afar, and then - what's that? - we spotted a breaching humpback whale in the distance! With their breaching and lob-tailing, this whale seemed to be calling their peers for lunch. Soon several whales popped all around us, some of them lunge-feeding. After admiring some more the scene of breaching and feeding whales, we started to get going back to the harbor. On our way, we had another strike of luck: a calm pod of harbor porpoises keeping close to the surface.
