Tour at 13:00

The sun was shining when we headed out. The wind was blowing from behind so it was like on the warmest summer days when heading out to Faxaflói bay. On our way out there we came a cross one Minke Whale. We didn't stay for very long with it and headed further out. When we got further we spotted a flock of feeding Gannets. And both right under them and around the area where they were we found many Minke Whales. Some of them surfacing close to us and others further away. We even spotted one of them rolling at the top of the surface and another that came on full speed swimming on the side so we could see the white belly through the surface and half of the fluke was sticking out and then it went straight for a deep dive with a big splash. Great tour.

Tour at 09:00

The weather was great this morning. A bit cloudy but the wild was calm and no rain. After sailing for about 40-50 minutes we spotted the first whales. We found a very nice pod of Harbour Porpoises. At first it appeared to be only 2 or 3 individuals but close by we spotted more of them and there were at least 10-12 of them there possibly more. When we were about to head further on in search for the larger whales a Minke Whale surfaced just 5 meters away from the boat. It surfaced 4 times this close to us and then a further out we spotted another one. In close by there were feeding Gannets, Shearwaters, Fulmars and Guillemots. When heading back to the harbour we then spotted another Minke Whale. This was a very small Minke, guessing 4-6 meters long. It surfaced several times for us before heading for new adventures. Unfortunately we didn't have time to follow this time and headed back to the harbour.
