Tour at 13:00
After sailing for about 30 minutes we first spotted a Pod of Harbour Porpoises and while we were looking at them a Minke Whale came up right next to them. We stayed in the area for a little while and there were at least 2 more Minke Whales there and loads of Harbour Porpoises. We were able to see them really well up close. We then headed further out where we spotted some White-beaked Dolphins breaching out of the water and swimming under the boat. On our way back to the harbour we then spotted 2 more Minke Whales and many Harbour Porpoises. On our way back we stopped by Akurey again to see how the Puffins were doing, we also spotted some Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Eider Ducks and Fulmars. Birds we spotted during the tour were Guillemots, Razorbills, Arctic Terns, Fulmars, Lesser Black-backed Gulls and Kittiwakes. Another really good tour out in Faxaflói bay.

The weather today was so beautiful, the sea was calm and it was actually pretty warm (even though I preferred wearing the overall:). We started our tour today by stopping by the Puffin island Akurey, there were quite many Puffins there today as well as some Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Eider Ducks, Fulmars and Kittiwakes. We then headed out where we first spotted some Harbour Porpoises and then a Minke Whale and some more Harbour Porpoises and another Minke whale. There were so many of them there and the Arctic Terns were there as well feeding around the Whales. Among birds we spotted today were e.g. Guillemots, Razorbills and Arctic Skua. A very successful trip.
