✔ CLASSIC TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00
Report from Elding: We had during this afternoon tour a break from the rain which we all really appreciated. The sea was perfectly calm so it was easy to see signs of the presence of the whales. First, after 40 minutes sailing, we found a minke whale that surfaced at 30 meters from the boat. We saw it surfacing a few times but it was hard to follow. We continued further out in the bay until we crossed our second sighting of the day; a pod of 5-6 white beaked dolphins. They were socializing swimming really close from each other, They came just near the bow and we could clearly see those amazing creatures swimming around. We continued in the direction of a blow seen from faraway until we find out that there was whales everywhere in the bay today. We counted at least 5 humpback whales seen from faraway. We could clearly approach one that we saw nicely fluke diving a few times and even rolling on its back to have both pectoral fins in the air. A minke whale was also in the area, a bit more discret than the humpbacks. At a long distance we also saw the splashes made by a breaching whale. The whales were really active today !

✔ PREMIUM TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 10:00
Report from Þrauma Rib: It was one of those mornings where you weren't that eager to get out on the bay but it actually turned out to be a very nice morning. The forecast did not look great, choppy seas and heavy rain ugh. However, once again the Icelandic weather surprised us. Rain stayed away for most of the tour, the sea was much calmer than forecasted and we even got to see some blue sky. The clouds even parted enough to see the solar eclipse that happened between 9:49 - 11:33 this morning. Just a perfect start to the tour. We got to see a few puffins on Engey, our closest puffin island and found a humpback whale way offshore which we may have missed if it was not for the eagle eyes of our captain Reynar. As other vessels in the area were not having much luck. We had a great encounter, it even started surface feeding, blowing bubbles to trap food and rolling at the surface for easier engulfment of that food. Just a great tour.
