✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Elding : This morning the weather was wild, a lot of wind coming from the south and picking up more and more during the tour. A bit of rain was also there to be sure that we could wake up this morning. The sea was very choppy even if there was very little swell. We started with a minke whale. We saw it a couple of time but it was hard to follow it so we continued further north in the bay. We spotted big splashes coming from far away and wanted to figure out what was happening. We lost it for a while and saw 6-7 white beaked dolphins that we could see doing nice jumps in the waves. We spotted again splashes and a blow from the whale and approached the area. It was a humpback whale! The animal was swimming very fast and we could see it a few times. We went back and found, probably, another humpback whale. We saw the blow a few times and one beautiful fluke dive. Under such a weather, our passengers had a viking experience !

✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Elding : As we headed from the harbour, the weather was not looking particularly good. The sea was a bit choppy, which made spotting any cetaceans hard – but, luckily for us, the wildlife was abundant in Faxaflói. We first saw a minke whale, followed by 2-3 white-beaked dolphins. Then we had to patiently sail around the bay in quite difficult conditions for about an hour until we found another white-beaked dolphin pod with around 5 very playful and curious individuals. Then we saw big splashes in the distance and decided to head to that area, and as we were marvelling at the dolphins, a large humpback whale surfaced right behind the boat. However, it went straight for a deep dive and did not show us anything else then a few blows later on. On our way back we saw around 3 more jumping dolphins in the distance, doing incredible acrobatics in the air, but time had come to finish the tour and head home so we did not check them out further.
