✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Elding : This morning was foggy but with a calm sea, only a bit of swell and almost no wind. It was quite pleasant to navigate on the bay and the fog slowly thinned out. We first find a minke whale. The animal was probably feeding and a bit difficult to follow so we continue until we found a pod of white beaked dolphins swimming in the same area than a humpback whale. It was a very good sighting, we saw the whale lunge-feeding near flocks of birds three times and surfacing many times. We went further after a nice moment with the humpback and found another pod of white beaked dolphins, very active, jumping, bow riding, socializing. They were very playful and it made the end of the tour truly wonderful.

✔ CLASSIC PUFFIN TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 10:00
PREMIUM WHALE TOUR  ON SCHEDULE | 10:00

Report from Þruma: The sea was fairly calm this morning but could feel the effects of a long swell from the west. The tour started off very well as we first encountered a humpback whale that appeared to be traveling across the bay due to the speed it was moving. We watched the whale perform a few surface sequences, coming up for a number of breaths before raising the fluke for the dive. After, we journeyed further west and came into contact with a pod of 6-8 white-beaked dolphins. The dolphins showed some interest in our presence as they approached the boat, swimming within a couple of metres from the bow, darting from the left to right. The dolphins then moved to one side, surfing in the small swell that existed.

✔ CLASSIC WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Elding: The sea was very nice this afternoon. We headed out into the Faxaflói bay in search of whales that have been delighting passangers in the morning. After some time we saw a group of 5-7 white beaked dolphins. Shortly after in the distance we could spot the blow of a humpback whale. After a period of waiting, our patience proved fruitful as we could observe it surface a few times, showing us two beautiful fluke dives. It was an individual we have seen in many occasions over the last months. We kept going and found another pod of 3 white beaked dolphins which came for a close view of the vessel, bow riding and playing nearby. On the way home we enjoyed one of the most incredible views of the city of Reykjavík and its iconic buildings. It was a thrilling afternoon!

✔ PREMIUM PUFFIN TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00
✔ PREMIUM WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 14:00

Report from Þruma: The sea state was unchanged for the afternoon but the visibility had improved as the fog dispersed a the day grew. Many animals had been seen in the bay the last days and we feeling positive with our chances again. On our journey west, we saw a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins. The pod came reasonably close allowing for a perfect view of them as the cruised through the small wind swell. After several minutes, we decided to continue our search of the largest animals and found a humpback whale. The whale was performing surfacing sequences with dive times of 3-4 minutes. We managed to get closer gradually on each surface and saw the whale lift its fluke high for a dive of a number of times. On our way back to the city we found one more cetacean species in the minke whale. the whale slowly moved through the water, showing its back for everyone to observe.

✔ MIDNIGHT WHALE TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 20:30

Report from Elding : The rain was back on Reykjavik and on the bay for this tour. The wind was picking up a little bit but it was still pleasant for our passengers. It was quite hard to spot the animals during this tour, it was dark and foggy with rain. We still could find 2 minke whales during the tour and we had a glimpse of a pod of white beaked dolphins. The sightings were very short and difficult so we decide to offer a complimentary ticket allowing our passengers to come back for a new tour. If we found an area with very big flocks of active birds, increasing our hope, we did not find any good sighting during this tour. Our passengers still enjoyed the experience, and the many birds that we crossed.
