Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 1PM Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: We sailed out with optimism in our hearts and a camera in our hands to search for Icelands largest mammals, the whale. The scenery was just breathtaking with snow covered mountains and the setting sun that got more and more beautiful as the tour went on. We went straight to the area we saw humpbacks on yesterdays tour and a little further in the hope they decided to stick around. They didn’t. We did see a nice variety of birds and even had a very curious cormorant that circled us twice, very close before heading off again. We also saw common guillemots, glaucous gulls, kittiwakes, great black-backed gulls and eider ducks. There was also a few red-throated divers flying around just outside the harbour. It was a shame we didn’t see any whales but the scenery and birds were lovely. We offered our passengers complimentary tickets in the hope they will have better success next time.
