Report from Eldey: We sailed out on a gloriously sunny day with a little swell but near to no wind! We had a great view of all the landmarks and made our way out into the bay. After about an hour of sailing we saw a harbour porpoise and then shortly after a minke whale. Both were quite elusive so we sailed on and found two more minke whales. One was very close to the boat but vanished shortly after. Then, a big blow on the horizon! Thar she blows, we found a humpback whale! This was an unusually elusive humpback whale, that did show us its fluke but then took a longer dive and popped up behind us. We did see its fluke one more time before heading back to the harbour. On our way back we did see another small pod of harbour porpoises, which was a lovely little surprise sendoff. In total we saw 3 minke whales, roughly 10 harbour porpoises and a humpback whale.

Report from Eldey: Our adventure out at sea started with sunshine and almost no wind. We admired the beautiful landscape all around us and enjoyed the last Icelandic summer days. Then a blow on the horizon, a humpback whale! As we were making our way there to take a look at this magnificent creature, a sneaky minke whale popped up right next to our boat and showed itself a couple of times. After looking at the minke for a while we made our way to the humpback and arrived to see it blow multiple times and go for some deep dives. On the way back we even spotted another minke and a lonely harbour porpoise as well as a pod of 5-7 playful white-beaked dolphins, jumping and interacting with the boat! What an incredible tour!
