CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: What a tour! The conditions almost reminded us of the summer (except for the freezing temperatures), with the sea almost completely flat and low wind. The great visibility allowed us to see the backs of humpback whales from afar. When we reached the area we discovered that there were three humpback whales resting together. When 7-9 white-beaked dolphins arrived to the scene, the humpback whales started getting more active - rolling around, lifting their pectoral fins and one of them even throwed its peduncle in the air. The humpbacks were clearly curious about the boat, coming really close to us and one of them even spyhopping! We felt so lucky to have experienced the beauty of Icelandic nature from so close and feel the connection with these amazing animals today.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: This afternoon we set sail on incredibly calm waters with very little wind - perfect conditions to go whale watching! After about an hour of sailing we saw some white beaked dolphins in the distance and headed towards them. This pod of around 20 individuals was quite calm and a little tricky to track so we decided to head on. As we did, their behaviour changed and they came much closer - maybe sad to see us leave! We stayed with them for a respectful amount of time and then said goodbye. We saw a bigger blow on the horizon which peaked our interest. We headed towards it and saw our beloved trio of humpback whales from this morning. They were still in a very calm mood but came quite close to the boat. As there was barely any wind the blows always lingered and it was a very special moment for us all. On our way home we spotted a minke whale and 6 more dolphins. The minke whale stayed in the distance but the pod came much closer and was quite active, even swimming closely to our left and doing some mini jumps.
