Today we will be operating our Classic Whale Watching on our lovely vessel Hafsúlan at 9:00 and 13:00. OurPremium Whale Watching departure times are 10 am, 11:00 am 14 pm and 15 pm.

Report from Hafsula: What a glorious day we had today! The ocean was incredibly calm and there was no wind - what a perfect day to go whale watching. We set sail and not even 10min out we found a pod of 7 white beaked dolphins. This was a very friendly pod which came extremely close and we could watch them through the water. While we were watching this pod, we spotted lots around us so it was tricky to tell how many pods there were. It felt like 20 individuals, some feeding, some jumping, some curious and some travelling. After this amazing encounter we continued onwards, and quickly spotted a minke whale. This one minke was a bit elusive but as we continued on we found an area where we saw lots more! They all took turns coming up, some super close and some a bit further and at one point there were roughly 10 minke whales around us. We turned off the engine and watched on in awe. Eventually we ran out of time so head to back to harbour. On the way we decided to have a mini stop at Engey one of the puffin islands.

Report from Hafsulan: We set off this afternoon with the sun shining bright and barely any wind at all. It did not take us too long before we saw our very first pod of white beaked dolphins. They were quite at ease with us around and we could even see them bowriding for a little bit. After spending some time with them, we moved on. Eventually we ended up in an area where we spotted no less than 5 minke whales all close together. Not too long after, we were joined by two humpback whales, as well as a few pods of dolphins! We stayed for quite a while in that area, in awe of all the marine mammals around us. Very cool to see was how some of the dolphins were interacting with the humpback whale! Eventually, we we ran out of time and had to head back to port. Along the way we spotted some more dolphins, and yet another minke whale right outside of port as well. Today we had an incredible afternoon, one we hope to have many more of in the future!
