CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 0900

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out in this typical Icelandic weather, hoping to reiterate the good tours of the last few days. We first spotted 3 minke whales in the distance, as well a 1 harbour porpoise. Along with the increasing amount of birds, with lots of puffins and Northern gannets coming in and out of the bay, we sensed that we were closer to a good activity zone. Luckily, a friendly humpback whale who seemed to be resting confirmed this. After a calm moment and a couple of fluke dives, it decided to breach incredibly in front of us, with everyone getting a great view of one of our best sightings. We headed back to the harbour with great content, still in awe of this breach.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Hafsulan: the sun started peaking through the clouds again as we set sail this afternoon. after a bit of sailing we spotted 2 minke whales. They were however quite elusive so we did not stick around too long. a bit further away, we spotted another minke whale, this one we could hang out with for a bit and get some nice looks. We were then also joined by a humpback whale! This one appeared to be quite the showoff as it spent a lot of time surfacing and swimming on its side and back. We even saw a fin slap a couple time! We could stay with this individual quite some time but eventually we moved onwards. Near the end of the trip the wind started picking up a bit more, but this was no problem as we could go inside for a nice, warming drink. Then, right before entering the harbour, we were treated to one last minke whale to end our day.
