CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 11:00
Report from Eldey: Sailing out for the first time in a while this morning, we were excited to finally have a chance to brave the conditions and have some cetaceans to see. We slowly followed the coastline through the bay, to keep the most stable conditions for all passengers, which turned efficient at first. Going around the puffin islands, much of the birdlife was vivid and present for all to enjoy. Trying our luck to go further out the bay, the swell started picking up as more people started having a hard time with the conditions. We soon had to return to harbour, sadly having seen no cetaceans, handing out complimentary tickets for all to come on a better day.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Hafsulan - this afternoon we sailed out into they bay, hopeful that the last few stormy days brought in nutrients and in turn whales. There was still a leftover swell from the last days and the boat ended up rolling a lot depending on the heading of boat. As we sailed out we noticed a lot of seabirds, especially Arctic Terns, our summer visitors. Unfortunately, we were not so lucky with the cetaceans. On our way back we heard from another whale watching boat about dolphins in area, however, the pod disappeared before we arrived there. We gave all passengers complementary tickets so they can have another chance to try their luck again on another whale watching tour for free,

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 15:00
Report from Eldey: As the sky cleared out and the wind settled, we set sail into the bay. Despite the difficult morning, we were still hopeful to spot some of the amazing wildlife. However, while lots of birds were present during the trip, we did not get any sightings of whales. Because of this, we handed out complementary tickets to all passengers, so they can come back and get another chance at enjoying the beautiful wildlife here in Faxafloi bay
CLASSIC WHALE TOUR 17:00
Report from Hafsulan: Our crew and passengers started the tour excited to leave the urban life of Reykjavík, into the ocean and its unpredictable adventures. Few moments after leaving the harbour, we could already notice that the weather was improving, in relation to the previous tour. Curious marine birds, of multiple species, approached our boats throughout the trip, providing great moments for photos and videos. After some time of patiently searching for cetaceans, we came accross our first and only sighting of the tour. A pod of around 10 white-beaked dolphins. Although being small in numbers, the group was very social, approaching our boat, bow-riding, and doing multiple jumps, for a period of more than 20 minutes.

Bird species encountered today:
Black-legged kittiwake, Northern fulmar, Atlantic puffin, Black-backed gull, Black guillemoth, Artic tern.
