We had a bit of wind but the temperature was pretty mild for January! After passing Engey and Viðey islands, we spotted a pair of humpback whales - it was Banana and their new friend. They were feeding so were moving around a lot and keeping us on our toes. One of them even did a full breach out of the water! We also spotted a solo harbour porpoise.

The forecast was pretty good this evening - high activity on the Kp index, and gaps in the clouds. We waited patiently for the auroras to appear, but unfortunately they never did, so all our guests were offered complimentary tickets to try again!

The tour started and ended with a starry sky filled with northern lights activity! We saw all shapes and sizes, in all shades and colours. A massive corona formed just above us and stayed there for a few minutes, making a few necks a bit sore.
Today, although the wind was a bit strong, the sun was shining strong and we braved the conditions out on the top deck. We soon spotted 2 humpback whales swimming side by side, between the harbour and Engey island! It was Banana and its friend! We got closer and could hear their blows and see the bumps on their rostrums - such a cool sighting!
We started the day by sailing around the islands of Reykjavík where we saw plenty of bird life. We came across 2 grey seals and about an hour into the tour we finally saw a humpback whale! We saw it do a few fluke dives and managed to get a few nice close up views. We were also checked out by a few curious grey seals before sailing back to shore.

We didn't even have to leave the harbour before we saw the northern lights! They were green and red, which is a very rare colour to witness. The auroras were visible during the whole tour and at one point they appeared overhead - it was beautiful!

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, we have decided to cancel the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
We had quite strong winds and rain, but the sea conditions were okay. It didn't take us that long before we saw a harbour seal, followed by our friend Banana the humpback whale. We then saw another 2-3 seals, and after quite a sail searching for other wildlife, we returned to Banana and got one final farewell before it was time to head back to the harbour!
It was a windy day, but the seas were calm nonetheless. We searched around for a bit and eventually found our first humpback whale. This individual was frantically travelling and likely in the search for food. After a while we found a second humpback whale! It was our resident winter whale Banana, still calmly hanging around in the area as in the last months!

Tonight we had clear skies and calm seas. The moment we left the city behind us, we could truly admire the spectacle before us. The sky was filled with northern lights in many shapes that we got to enjoy for the duration of the whole tour!
We were in for a windy afternoon today, but that didn't stop us from sailing out of the harbour. After passing Engey island, we spotted a blow in the distance - it was our resident humpback whale; Banana! It was feeding and we managed to see it fluke many times. Despite the brisk northerly wind, we ended our tour happy with plenty of hot chocolate in hand!

The forecast promised nice gaps in the clouds and a good KP-index. We had to have a little patience, but after a while the northern lights showed up. Unfortunately they were very faint, so we decided to hand out complimentary tickets!
We had wonderful weather today with calm seas and blue skies. We started our search between the islands and then got word of a humpback whale nearby - it was our friend Banana! It started logging at the surface right next to our boat, and then, all of a sudden, it breached! We also spotted 2 harbour porpoises very briefly before they disappeared again.

Not long after we sailed out, we saw northern lights through the clouds above Akrafjall mountain. They lingered for a bit but as they never got stronger, we decided to gave out complimentary tickets so our guests can join us again another night.
