Today's tours from Reykjavík is cancelled due to weather and rough sea conditions.
The morning tour was cancelled due to weather, but we headed out in the afternoon with some wind and rough sea. After a good while of sailing, we saw a few blows on the horizon - it turned out to be a total of 7 humpback whales in the same area! One got so close the boat that we could see its full body! Such a great tour in spite of the rough conditions!

Due to unfavourable weather conditions, we have decided to CANCEL the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
Our tour began under a cloudy sky, but we ventured further out than usual, where we saw a few breaks in the clouds, revealing some stars. Unfortunately, the lights did not show themselves, so we offered complimentary tickets for a second try.
The day began with a pod of 20 white-beaked dolphins near Grótta lighthouse, before encountering a humpback whale by Hafnarfjörður! This afternoon we headed back to the same area, but unfortunately, there were no signs of cetaceans.. As we turned around, we got a call about 2 humpback whales - it was our friend Calamity with a new buddy!

This morning we had calm seas and snowy skies. We quickly spotted a blow close to Grótta lighthouse - it was a humpback whale swimming in shallow waters super close to shore. Then, a large pod of about 50-70 white-beaked dolphins appeared! The sun came out in the afternoon and we found a feeding humpback whale near Hafnarfjörður harbour!

The night started off with so much promise and we were treated to views of Jupiter, Venus, and Mars! As the evening continued, we could see glimpses of the northern lights, however they never grew stronger, so we issued complimentary tickets!
The waters were calm as we made our way towards Hafnarfjörður this morning, and right when we were getting close to the harbor, we spotted two humpback whales lunge feeding close to the boat. In the afternoon we found that the pair from the morning had split up, and we found a humpback whale (Pongo), now headed away from land and into deeper waters.

With the wind in our backs, we sailed to Hafnarfjörður and soon spotted blows right next to the dry dock - 2 humpback whales (Pongo and Calamity), lunge feeding in the shallows! In the afternoon, we had searched for quite a while before seeing a blow coming from the inside of Hafnafjörður harbour. It turned out to be one of the humpback whales (Pongo )from this morning!
Not long after departing this morning, we spotted a large pod of 30-40 white-beaked dolphins, jumping, porpoising and bow riding. In the afternoon we sailed out through the rain and saw 4 harbour porpoises as well as 2 humpback whales - and just as we arrived, one of them breached in front of us! It was quite the spectacle and completely caught us by surprise!
