- NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 22:00
This evening was our first Northern Lights Cruise of the winter and we sailed out with a bit of a cloud cover but soon spotted some northern lights! The lights came and went, but they stayed with us most of the tour. A great start to the season!
While most tours ended up being cancelled due to weather, we did manage to sail out in the morning. We saw a bottling grey seal near Viðey island in the morning and two harbour porpoises in the afternoon, but due to the limited sightings, we did issue complimentary tickets in hopes our passengers are able to return and try again!
Today we encountered several pods of up to 20 white-beaked dolphins, some even travelling with their small calves. We also came across at least 3 minke whales throughout the day and 2 harbour porpoises in the early evening. The last two tours of the day ended up issuing complimentary tickets due to minimal sightings.
We encountered several humpback whales today, including "Mr. Bubbles", displaying fluke dives and even lunge feeding. The morning started slowly, with only birds and puffins spotted before finding a humpback. In the afternoon, sightings of the humpback continued, along with a brief appearance by two harbour porpoises.
Multiple pods of harbour porpoises were seen today, including a pod of 7-8 individuals. We spotted at least six different humpback whales, with "Davy Jones" among them, often displaying fluke dives. A minke whale was also sighted briefly. The calm seas allowed for clear views of these cetaceans making for a great day on the water!

Later tours also encountered a friendly humpback whale known to us as "Davy Jones II", along with white-beaked dolphins and even more minke whales. Another tour had a brief minke whale sighting but ended up issuing complimentary tickets.
Throughout the day, we encountered multiple humpback whales on each tour, with some offering close fluke dives and even breaching. The afternoon tour saw an impressive lunge dive, while the evening tour ended with a humpback surrounded by at least 15 diving gannets plunging into the sea. A truly magnificent day in the bay!
Throughout the day, we encountered numerous humpback whales and minke whales across multiple tours, with sightings of harbour porpoises during both the afternoon and late tours. The evening tour was less fortunate, with only harbour porpoises spotted, leading to the issuance of complimentary tickets for our guests.
