Due to unfavourable weather conditions, we have decided to CANCEL the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
We sailed into the bay in sunny, but chilly weather. We found a small pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins and a a solo harbour porpoise, but they all disappeared quickly. Due to the difficult sightings, we of course offered complimentary tickets to all our understanding passengers. The rest of the day's tours were unfortunately cancelled due to unfavourable weather.

No (Fin) Whaling in 2025
We’re pleased to share that there will be no fin whale hunting in Iceland this year, as it is not considered economically viable. While this is a welcome development, it reflects financial challenges rather than a shift in mindset. We will continue to advocate for the protection of Iceland’s marine life, which we believe holds far greater value when left undisturbed.
Our day started with sunny skies and some cold wind. After a while we spotted a minke whale and then a pod of white-beaked dolphins! In the afternoon we found a pod of 3 harbour porpoises, 2 humpback whales, and finally an orca! But it wasn't alone - we saw another 5 feeding around us. One of them even lob-tailed next to our boat! What a fantastic surprise!

We headed out with a good forecast and some gaps in between the clouds. We saw some very faded northern lights, but they were not very bright and not very long lasting. So we issued complimentary tickets to our guests on our return to shore.
This morning we sailed out into the bay in search for wildlife. After a short while, we came across an area with a lot of birds and found 3 minke whales actively feeding and rolling. Then a humpback whale came up and did some nice rolls and fluke dives. In the afternoon we found the humpback whale again quite close by and managed to see some atlantic puffins.

We set sail this morning with gentle seas and soon spotted pod of around 6 harbour porpoises, 2 pods of 20-30 or so white-beaked dolphins and a minke whale! In the afternoon we found a super pod of 100+ white-beaked dolphins, jumping, feeding and swimming in all directions. Then, after a bit of sailing we found a minke whale and finally a humpback whale!
We had a calm morning at sea today! On our way out, we saw some atlantic puffins and a minke whale on our left. A bit further out we encountered a humpback whale, whom we recognised it as Mr. Bubbles! On the way back we spotte a pod of about 5 harbour porpoises. In the afternoon we saw 4 pods of harbour porpoises and about 8-10 white-beaked dolphins!

We headed out into the bay with warm weather, but despite a hopeful forecast of gaps in the clouds, the auroras were not able to push through. In the end we of course issued complimentary tickets to our guests, so they can return once more.
